A few words from our planning director

As you have witnessed within this website, we believe Pelham is a great place to live, work and play. Our Board of Selectmen, with the support of our Budget Committee and our citizens have improved community facilities that make Pelham citizens and business people proud. These include a new central fire station, a state-of-the-art Police station and Town Hall and a fantastic library all revolving around our Village Green, a welcoming public space where our community gathers for concerts on the common, tot soccer, Easter egg hunts and all manner of family-oriented community events.
Pelham features a Parks and Recreation Department that stacks-up against any much larger town’s programs to the point where Pelham has been designated as one of America’s Most Playful Cities! We just completed a major high school addition and renovation that puts our school buildings on par with our great educational programs including many college prep courses that give our graduating students an edge when seeking college admission. Our statistics on family income are impressive and we have a very well-educated and talented workforce ready to help make your business a success.

But that is not the whole story. Pelham also features many business opportunities and a significant amount of commercial and Industrial zoned land that is available for business development. Our land use boards are fair-minded in the way they treat applicants because they understand that realizing meaningful development is best achieved when it is the outcome of working constructively.

I encourage any business person interested in locating in southern New Hampshire to call me first. I will be happy to share my knowledge of available land, our land use regulations and the local development process. This approach has resulted in Southern New Hampshire Medical Center opening an Immediate Care facility in our Town Center, an award-winning Enterprise Bank opening on Route 38 along with a new Tractor Supply store. Just recently the Planning Board approved its first multi-unit housing project with a “country store” business feature within the Pelham Center Mixed Use District and a new trampoline/rock wall climbing facility next to Pelham’s Chunky’ s Cinema Pub.
Pelham has a lot to offer. Give me a call and I will prove it to you!
